The Doctorate or Tudor bonnet was first used by academics returning to Englands educational institutions after the Reformation. These faculty members prefered to wear this piece of professional dress rather than the sqaure cap, which, with it's medieval origins, was associated with the Catholic past of the academic institutions.

Sizes are determined by wearer's height.
